Thank. You. Jesus.
This winter was rough for me. I lost the ability to function for a while… and the desire. All I wanted to do was sleep. Except, I couldn’t sleep without the aid of Advil PM. My eating? HAH! Went straight to hell… and the 10 lbs I gained went straight to my already bulbous ass. My blood sugars went berserk.
I saw a new doctor on Friday. I really liked her. She increased the amount of Lexapro I take. Added a second blood pressure medicine. She’s going to put me back on insulin for a bit so we can get my sugars back in line.
Today… I started eating differently. Better. Again. This time, I’m making the husband and the child eat the same way. No bread. No pasta. No rice. NO JUNK. Snacks will be fruit or fresh veggies or yogurt. No sodas. No coffee. **Whimper** We will drink only milk, water and juice. (Juice for the Husband as he’s lactose intolerant.)
I already feel better. Stronger. Less… meh. Let’s hope I keep going in this direction!

So I’ve been slacking here again. Sigh. Life is either dull or crazy. There IS no middle ground.
Last week found us making an emergency trip to East Texas. J’s grandma isn’t doing well so we caravan’d with my FIL, SIL and her family to go see her for what is likely the last time. We drove at night… and it took 15 hours… ish. It was INSANE. J drove the whole way and I stayed up to keep him awake. We stayed with my folks, though I didn’t manage to spend much time with them. It was GREAT to see them.

The Gang!
We did spend a lot of time with J’s side of the family. It was a great visit with everyone, even if the reason for the trip was less than happy.
Also, I managed to injure myself on the trip. About an hour from our final destination I had to pee… I mean, I had to go with the fire of 1000 suns. We scrambled to find a restroom. Of course, we were on country back roads so it was… a… challenge. We finally found this really questionable looking gas station. We stopped and I dashed in. Unfortunately, THEY DID NOT HAVE A BATHROOM. WTF dudes? Sigh, I rushed out trying to tell my SIL NOT TO GET THE KIDS OUT OF THE CAR TO POTTY and in my haste my foot slid off the concrete step and I went down like a ton of fricking bricks. On the side of the country highway. In broad daylight. GO ME! Sigh. I managed to get back in the Jeep, which, OY! is difficult in the first place because I am short and round, and then we traveled the last hour to my folks. By the time we got there my foot and ankle were badly swollen and I couldn’t walk much or put any pressure on it.
I spent the rest of our first day nursing my fricking foot. Hah! GO ME!
